Well, well well.

What do you know, I had another relatively well good day!

1. I actually woke up for breakfast!

Amazingly, this was motivated by a desire to get to the library and take out some books before revision class started -altogether now, GASP. Am I not supposed to be on exchange?? Don't I just have to achieve a pass on my modules?? Don't gasp too hard yet, the only reason why I'm doing this is because I've not done a single reading for this module (no kidding) hahaha.

And it's always good to get to talk to people -I only just realised I haven't conversed with many of them for practically a month or more whooops.

2. My eyes spied something really sweet during my revision class

WARNING: BIMBO MOMENT - EYE CANDY! After 10 weeks of lectures, one month of Easter break, and only about 3 weeks of school left, I wonder why I have not seen him in my class before =| He was probably always the one making intelligent comments from the back of the classroom (and I never bothered to turn around to look, or the classroom was too big). Well better late than never hah. I hope he doesn't sit near me during the exam.

3. Ian McEwan

I attended a talk that Ian McEwan was part of, about Emotions in Literature and the Brain -he and this neuroscience guy were basically discussing emotions, and though most of it flew above my head due to Britishy mumbling (the room would erupt into laughter at some point and I'd be like whaaaaaat?) and the cheemness of the content but all in all it was very insightful, and ahh I got to see Ian McEwan! (: He's really eloquent and witty, and there's no wonder he has produced the novels he has.

4. Punk dinner guy (mentioned him in one of my posts eons ago)

Ran into him on my way back to hall, as he was walking out haha! He smiled and said something I couldn't catch cos I was plugged into my mp3 player, but probably something to the extent of asking me how I was so I just gave him my brightest smile haha. (Mich we need to figure out if he also cleans your apartment at Schafer =|)

Well on the not-so-bright side (yes I do have negative emotions too, despite my earlier post), I am a little hungry now because the lecture was right smack in the middle of hall-dinner time and I didn't manage to grab any food, except for a croissant I stole from breakfast. I wish to eat the banana lying on my table but it isn't ripe enough yet and refused to be peeled/raped by me apparently. Raarh.

Also a note about the swine flu:

Well, the people at the top are telling us not to panic -but yet it's all these small little things that make people do. The sheer number of reports on it, the notifications sent out to every household (or email inbox -I've received some both from NUS and UCL), the constant updates on the situation -Errr okay good job leaders! And as for the first death outside Mexico (I'm not dismissing the person's death, just the way the media has portrayed it and how people have reacted to it) -come on it is ONLY an imaginary line drawn between Texas and Mexico (yes it is outside Mexico, but still nearby), do you expect a virus to respect that (Virus: "Oh dear, I've forgotten to apply for a passport! Guess I had better turn back")? Now scale it up -if the world was not divided by all these imaginary lines, there wouldn't be a panicky situation as countries "fall" to it one by one -reminds me of the US's Domino Theory during the Cold War.

And despite being a little cynical about the whole thing, what ifs still linger in the back of my brain -what if it really is serious (I mean, the whole thing is rather unpredictable)? Better safe than sorry -and to believe and follow the instructions issued from above? When friends ask me if they should continue with their grad trips here I myself do not know what advice to give -because I do not know what to believe.

Sun coming in through my window, golden-green leaves, make for good daydreaming
